Senior QA Engineer (Playwright)

Job Description

As a Software QA Engineer in this role, your responsibilities will include:- Reviewing product requirements and technical documentation to create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases.- Executing manual test cases for functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.- Automating high-value test scenarios using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.- Maintaining and enhancing the existing test automation suite for front-end and API layers.- Writing and maintaining API test scripts using Axios or similar tools.- Running backend validation checks using common database tools and queries.- Reporting defects with detailed steps and logs and verifying fixes.- Collaborating with the development team to triage issues and reproduce bugs.- Participating in Agile ceremonies and providing QA estimates and input during sprint planning.- Ensuring test coverage and quality gates are upheld during CI/CD deployments.In order to succeed in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:- 3-5 years of experience in software QA with hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing.- Solid experience with Playwright for UI and end-to-end automation.- Strong skills in TypeScript/JavaScript programming.- Familiarity with API testing using tools like Axios, Postman, or Playwright fixtures.- Understanding of backend/database testing and basic SQL.- Experience working in Agile teams and contributing actively to sprints.- Comfortable working with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.- Ability to work independently, with strong ownership of assigned modules.It would be nice to have exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, a basic understanding of Docker or containerized applications, and prior experience in a startup or fast-paced development environment.
