Lead Industrial Engineer - Process Optimization

Job Description

As a Lead Industrial Engineer at our clients prominent manufacturing firm in Kochi, Kerala, IN, your primary focus will be on enhancing operational efficiency, productivity, and quality through the application of industrial engineering principles. You will spearhead process optimization initiatives at the state-of-the-art facility by analyzing existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing innovative solutions to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and minimize costs. **Key Responsibilities:**- Lead the design, development, and implementation of improved manufacturing processes and systems- Conduct time and motion studies, workflow analyses, and capacity planning to identify inefficiencies- Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials- Utilize simulation software to model and evaluate proposed process changes before implementation- Analyze production data to identify root causes of problems and develop corrective actions- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement new equipment and technologies- Oversee the design and layout of production lines and workspaces for optimal efficiency- Train and mentor junior industrial engineers and production staff on process improvement techniques- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of implemented changes- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards throughout all processes- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in industrial engineering- Present findings and recommendations to senior management**Qualifications:**- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field. A Masters degree is preferred- Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on manufacturing process optimization- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a strong asset), and statistical process control (SPC)- Proficiency with industrial engineering software, simulation tools (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), and CAD software- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills- Excellent project management and leadership abilities- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization- Experience in developing and implementing complex process changes- Knowledge of production planning and control systems- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineering talentThis challenging and rewarding role is ideal for a seasoned Industrial Engineer who is passionate about driving operational excellence and shaping the future of manufacturing processes.
