Job Description

    Role Overview:You will provide assistance and support to Morningstars Legal operations in the Americas, EMEA, and India. This role, based in Mumbai, will report to the Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate Services, North America, and the Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate Services, India. Your responsibilities will include project coordination, contract documentation, fact gathering, and research on matters related to procurement, employment, and real estate without providing legal advice.Key Responsibilities:- Provide routine legal advisory services on HR matters and deliver legal opinions on various legal issues.- Draft, review, and negotiate procurement, HR, IT, and finance contracts, incorporating necessary redlining and stakeholder feedback.- Collaborate with the global legal team to ensure timely closure of contractual requirements.- Conduct due diligence and provide comprehensive legal research support as needed.- Advise on data privacy issues for the APJ region and maintain contract documentation in an organized manner.- Identify legal risks, propose solutions, and work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.- Support investigations by coordinating with external counsel and providing legal input.Qualifications:- Minimum 3 years of experience as a qualified lawyer, preferably in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.- Comprehensive knowledge of contract law, with expertise in negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.- Strong business acumen to provide pragmatic legal advice aligned with organizational objectives.
