Job Description

As a Senior Contracts Engineer in the SCM Project and Development team, your primary role is to assist the Contracts Manager in fulfilling the sourcing requirements of contracts by utilizing effective and consistent sourcing processes and methodologies. Your responsibilities include actively participating in understanding requirements, negotiating with vendors, executing orders, post-award contract management, and supplier relationship management. Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the sourcing of critical contracts in alignment with Category Manager & Contracts Manager guidance- Develop demand profiles and specify sourcing events- Monitor technical and price evaluations- Help the Contract Engineer in preparing for negotiation and selection of suppliers for major items- Ensure and review PO generation- Provide inputs to Contracts Manager in defining overall procurement strategy for services procurement of critical items- Align on timelines and spend planning for the assigned items- Shortlist initial supplier options and provide time/spend estimates- Oversee the preparation of contracts plan- Execute orders and coordinate expediting- Receive purchase requisitions/expiring contracts list- Prepare and release Request for Quotation/Enquiry to short-listed vendors- Study offers from vendors and prepare a comparative statement for vendor selection- Develop internal cost estimates- Participate in commercial negotiation meetings and finalize prices for items within role limits- Set up agreements and SLAs with finalized vendors- Prepare and release the final PO- Implement escalation process and maintain coordination with inbound logistics and commercial departments- Monitor post-award project contract management and enforce supplier feedback mechanism for improvement- Manage change order process and participate in routine planning meetings- Coordinate supplier information/confirmation on changes- Assess and monitor emergency situations and related procurement- Manage positive vendor relationships at the working level- Engage with vendors regularly to share organizational requirements and gather feedback- Review feedback and send reports to PCM and Contracts Lead- Ensure contractor performance meets end-user needs and suggest improvements to Contract Manager- Uphold ethical values in procurement dealings and operations- Utilize technology, specifically SAP system, to drive efficiency and cost optimization- Focus on using technological tools like e-auction and reverse auction to improve efficiency and transparencyQualifications Required:- B.Tech necessary, MBA or similar professional qualification optionalExperience Required:- 6 to 10 years of experience in a related field- Experience in Construction/Operation/Maintenance in Manufacturing/Exploration sites is an added advantageIn addition to the above responsibilities, you will provide guidance to Contract Engineer in Critical Contracts. Experience in Construction/Operation/Maintenance in Manufacturing/Exploration sites will be beneficial for this role.
