Job Description

Role Overview:You will be leading the Fixed Income Data Operations Team at Morningstar, overseeing day-to-day activities and ensuring the team meets all agreed deliverables. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the Fixed Income Data & Analytics Team and global stakeholders to improve team performance, productivity, and efficiency. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and enhancing the operational data quality framework and providing support and guidance to each data analyst on the team.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and manage a team of 4-5 Data Research Analysts, providing clear direction, setting SMART goals, and optimizing resource allocation.- Work closely with multiple global teams and across various functions, participating in global calls and meetings.- Design and create an end-to-end data quality governance and reporting framework for fixed income and derivatives data.- Establish SOP and escalation matrix for the team, assisting in identifying and eliminating roadblocks.- Research complex projects, provide actionable recommendations, and promote LEAN Six Sigma tools and methodologies.- Track, measure, and report on daily, monthly, and quarterly metrics to stakeholders.- Provide coaching and training to team members, set career development paths, and conduct performance reviews.- Monitor team availability to ensure minimum staffing requirements are met/exceeded.- Proactively identify areas for improvement and offer ideas for individual and group training sessions.Qualifications Required:- Bachelor/Masters degree in finance/business with an exceptional academic record.- Professional degree (CA, CA-Inter, ICWA, ICWA-Inter) preferred.- Minimum 5 years of professional work experience as a data operations team lead or manager.- Strong knowledge of financial products in Fixed Income and Derivatives.- Familiarity with risk analytics such as Durations, Spread, and Yield/Return would be an advantage.- Deep understanding of Fixed Income Reference Data Model.- Basic SQL skills will be a plus.- Understanding of Morningstar enterprise platform and products will be a plus.- Strong people and project management skills.- Ability to effectively communicate with local and international teams.- Proven experience optimizing processes.- Eager and ready to work in a high-performance culture.- Ability to take calls early or late nights once or twice a week.- Prior experience leading teams of 5 people will be an additional advantage.
